well, here's the thing. i don't know what kind of car that is either! so maybe if you linked to somewhere on the internet that had a picture of a car that looked like that one, i could actually judge this little contest. sorry, i didn't really think this through.

i love gremlins, but i don't think that's correct - see how the back of the gremlin slants at the same angle all the way to the bumper? Our mystery car doesn't do that - unless it's a gremlin from a different year or something... good try though!

datsun coupe is as close as we've come... but is it right? the back-end of the datsun looks a little "perkier" than that of our mystery car... a rear-view shot of the datsun could confirm or deny.
well this is the closest thing I could find, its a souped up Datsun Coupe....but all the telltale signs are there...Bumper....Wonky taillights.....beautiful

I've been obsessing over this now, asking every "car guy" I know. I'm now 100% sure that it is a Chevrolet Chevette. The tail lights match up perfectly, and the diamond shaped logo in the center does as well (on some reference pics).
