Tea Leaf Green Shirts & New Album

Our friends in the San Francisco rock band Tea Leaf Green are putting out their first studio album since 2008. Filled with insightful lyrics and masterful music, well-loved rockers, ballads, and jams, Looking West is set to be released on June 8th and will be available on itunes, in the band's online store, and at all their upcoming shows. Behold this ALO tour vlog featuring drummer David Brogan in a van talking about the special guests who would be attending their recent San Francisco Fillmore show. If you missed the show, you seem to have missed seeing Mozart and Sarah Palin, among others.

Good thing ALO is still on the road, and probably coming soon to a theater near you.

VV in Vet Dreamz

Some creative folks at the UC Davis Veterinary School made a fairly ridiculous sweet little rap video about applying to go to school there.


Vintage Vantage shirts are all over the place - we spotted at least the Science shirt, and the Hippo shirt.

ALO - Man of the World

If Vintage Vantage had a house band, it would be Animal Liberation Orchestra.

They are four supremely talented musicians, and together, their music encapsulates the same spirit of good-hearted enthusiasm we aim for in our t-shirts.

ALO went to Hawaii last winter to record an album in Jack Johnson's Mango Tree studio. Relix Magazine perhaps said it best: "(Jack) joins in on both sides of the console without letting ALO forget its own identity as Northern California's answer to the Beach Boys".

February is a month of love. That's right, it's all because of the Valentine's day in February 14. And when we talk about love, girls are always the ones who know the best way to express their feeling. That's why Vintage Vantage came out with cute, lovely and casual tees about love.

Girls, baking and muffins are inseparable. This cute tee shirt ($19.50) says "Let's Make Magic Love Muffins" which, of course, every girl could relate to this statement. Especially, when love and muffins collide.

And whose more you can love other than your boyfriend? It got to be your friends, right? This tee ($19.50) shows a collection of peeps, shouting love from the rooftops! Printed on lovely Vintage Vantage new faded black v-necks tee.

The New Deal is a high energy three-piece live electronic band from Canada, veritable masters of live progressive breakbeat house music.


Basically, they're a super funktastic show.


Darren the drummer from The New Deal regularly rocks the Vintage Vantage on stage and off.


Here he is last month during his late-night DJ set at Caribbean Holidaze in Jamaica. Feelin it.

Our friend Kassidy is a super photographer who has taken many photos of crazy folks modeling t-shirts for Vintage Vantage over the years.



And she spent the past year building a surf shack on the beach for herself in Nicaragua, with the help of talented friends, salvaged material, and boundless creativity.

You may know him as Steve, Smootie, The Executive, El Jardinero, or just plain Steven Rue Adams - but any way you smash it, he is a funky bassman.

He currently plays with a vast number of talented bands, including but not limited to: ALO, Big Light, Newfangled Wasteland, Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers, and Forest Sun.

And he would like to siesta contigo.

Oustide Lands Wrap Up

We had a steamy hot flantastic weekend at the Vintage Vantage T-shirt Shop and Hug Emporium tent at Outside Lands Festival in Golden Gate Park.

Guadalajara Joe performed a ninja set, Gaby V rocked and soothed the weary souls, and more free hugs were passed out than wooks.

We even got a mention in the SF Chronicle:

Inside, there were virtually no lines at the portable toilets or numerous
concessions stands, which sold everything from fair trade coffee and organic
produce to local wines. One stall offered free hugs along with vintage t-shirts.

Success! Already can't wait for next year.

Outside Lands Update

The Vintage Vantage Shirt Shop and Hug Emporium had a fantastic day at Outside Lands in San Francisco yesterday.

There are bins and racks of sweet t-shirts, trampolines for major jumping pleasure, and a full menu of FREE hugs to choose from. And people were getting creative with the hugs, ordering off the menu - sources say try the super underground vibe sandwich, or the double decker.

Also available in the tent are some brand new shirts, hot off the presses, not even on the website yet - like the amazing Stay at Home Gypsy shirt.

We'll be out there the rest of the weekend, so come on down and get fresh.

Space Camp Improv

NYC Funnyman Jason Shebiro makes us laugh like hyena. He sent us this photo and had this to say about it:

I am very much digging the Take Me To Space Camp shirt that I purchased from you lovely folks.... so much so that I wore it while on stage at this year's Del Close Marathon at NYC's Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. DCM is the biggest long-form improv comedy festival of the year. Thought I'd pass along the pics to let you know that I totally took all of those fools to Space Camp (thanks to you!)
